Tamara Safford
Born in New York City, 1942 and raised in an artist family. Dance and art were encouraged and emphasized, along with Russian Literature and poetry. Studied art from Middle School and later at Art Students League, and small private art classes. The University studies were mainly in art history. But, the work with Early Childcare was a strong current of change and in 1997 I began learning at Mass College of Art a better sense of the field as applies to working with children. Fits and Starts but finally after many work situations and overcoming challenges in life I graduated from Mass College of Art in fine art with open major.
My Artist Statement as of today is that I focus on what is recent and can place the observers eye on the map of our recent world views. My world view is focussed on the weather, the climate change, the consequences and meaning of natural disasters both as a metaphor and a fact of the planet earth, our only home.
